The coffee scene in Huntsville has blossomed in the past year alone, and each shop has its own personality.
Stepping beyond the caffeine fix/commodity coffee category, there are many more coffee spots that offer a great experience along with the cups of specialty coffee.
Need a place to work that will get the creative juices flowing, a date spot, a hangout with friends, or just an above average place to get your to-go cup?
We have you covered with these five.
5 Coffee Shops to Visit in Huntsville
1. Hindsight Coffee
The great thing about Hindsight Coffee is that it operates out of a food truck, meaning you can catch this great coffee all over town.
You can typically find the matte black truck on the Downtown Square or Twickenham Square during the week, and if you’re lucky, some Saturdays they team up with Bigfoot’s Little Donuts to make your weekend even sweeter.
2. Alchemy Lounge
Located inside historic Lowe Mill A&E, Alchemy is unlike any coffee shop in the Huntsville area.
With its large space and creative menu items, it’s a destination coffee shop. One of the newer unique offerings is “The Bee’s Knees”, which is espresso served with a teaspoonful of honey dusted with bee pollen.
Alchemy is always pushing forward and expanding their menu. Whether you order the same classic drink each time or like trying new creations, Alchemy does it all.
And the greatness doesn’t stop with the coffee. Tea, craft beer, and kombucha are all available and can even be enjoyed along with live music on weekends.
3. Angel’s Island
This coffee shop has the appearance of one you would expect to find in Florida, but it’s right here in south Huntsville.
Angel’s Island serves up an extensive coffee menu including their signature Angel’s Blonde Americano, which is a standard Americano with the addition of brown sugar and cream.
Smoothies, ice cream drinks, and breezes (drinks without espresso) make this spot a great place to hang out with friends.
4. Honest Roasters
Honest Roasters just opened its doors to the new downtown Huntsville location May 1. This has instantly become a hotspot downtown and great addition to The Garage at Clinton Row.
Coffee purists will rejoice and those wanting to find out what coffee culture is all about will be in for a treat. Serving acai bowls is an added bonus as well as being open Sundays which helps to add some life to the downtown area when many other places are closed.
5. Grounded Coffee
Grounded Coffee is a solid choice for coffee in the Madison area.
Whether you want to stop in with your family for a coffee on Saturday morning or attend their coffee tasting events every second Tuesday of the month, residents of Madison should feel fortunate to have a coffee shop of this level nearby.
