1. FREE  Red Clay Rejects Exhibit @ Lowe Mill A&E

July 8

The public is invited to come join the celebration and to shop the works in the exhibit of artists who applied and did not get accepted to the biannual Huntsville Museum of Art’s Red Clay Survey.


2. The Red Clay Survey: 2017 Exhibition of Contemporary Southern Art @ Huntsville Museum of Art

Opens July 9

Red Clay Survey is a recurring juried exhibition open to established and emerging artists in 11 Southern states.


3. FREE  Tuesdays on the Trail

July 11, 18 & 25

A fun environmental series for kids. This month, see bats at Sauta Cave, track footprints and float on the Flint ($10 charge for this one).


4. Firefly Night Hike @ Huntsville Botanical Garden

July 11 & 25

Bring your own flashlight and let us guide you through an evening of exploration as you feel the changes in the Garden when night approaches.

6. Party of the Year created by The Black Jacket Symphony @ U.S. Space & Rocket Center

July 15

A rocking night under the Pathfinder shuttle. This concert experience includes videos, full concert lighting, and a high-energy performance. Tickets $20.


7. Fiddler on the Roof @ Princess Theatre

July 20 – 22

Bank Street Players presents the much-loved musical Fiddler on the Roof at the historic Princess Theatre in downtown Decatur. Tickets $18.


8. Battle of the Food Truck All Stars

July 21

The food trucks return to Big Spring Park for another Friday night battle!


9. Mountain Deux

July 22

An aquathlon (run, swim) that is perfect for youth through adult. The Mountain Deux is hosted by the Mountain Springs Swim Club and the Land Trust of North Alabama. Cost $20 – 30.


10. Lyrique Music Productions Presents Hairspray

July 21 – 23 &  26 – 30

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. Tickets $20.


11. The Science of Rock N’ Roll @ U.S. Space & Rocket Center

Opens July 23

Have you ever wondered how technology has changed the multi-billion dollar rock n’ roll industry? Get ready for “The Science of Rock N’ Roll,” an interactive exhibition, unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.


12. Into the Woods presented by Huntsville Community Chorus

July 28 – 30 & August 3 – 6

 “Careful what you wish for….” In Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s fairy-tale inspired musical, the characters venture Into the Woods to make their wishes come true, and find much more than they bargained for! Tickets start at $15.

Join the Madison Chamber of Commerce for Business Expo & Kids Day with over 60 booths representing businesses, plus food trucks and more.
