Celebrate 100 Years of the Historic Huntsville Times Building
One of downtown Huntsville’s most recognizable landmarks is celebrating a major milestone this month.
The historic Huntsville Times Building, located at the corner of Greene Street and Holmes Avenue, is turning 100 years old, and the community is invited to help celebrate with a free block party on Saturday, July 25, from noon to 5 p.m.
For the past century, the building has served as a backdrop to countless moments in Huntsville’s history. From its days as the home of The Huntsville Times to its striking Art Deco architecture that continues to define the downtown skyline, the building has remained an enduring part of the city’s story.
The anniversary celebration will feature something for visitors of all ages, including live music, food trucks, local vendors, Huntsville history trivia, guided tours of the historic building, and family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon.
One of the highlights of the day will be a special presentation at 1 p.m., “The Story of the Times Building,” where attendees can learn about the building’s fascinating history and the architectural details that have made it a downtown icon for generations.
