Light Up the Night Returns to Big Spring Park on July 31

Looking for one last summer celebration before the school year begins? Huntsville Parks & Recreation is inviting the community to Light Up the Night on Friday, July 31, from 6-9 p.m. at Big Spring Park for an evening filled with music, lights and family-friendly fun.

Each year, the free event draws thousands of people to downtown Huntsville for a colorful celebration featuring glowing lights throughout the park, dancing, games and activities for all ages.

One of the evening’s biggest highlights is the foam party, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Kids can also enjoy neon face painting and will receive light-up party favors while supplies last, making it a memorable way to wrap up summer.

“Light Up the Night is a great way to celebrate the close of summer before the kids head back to school,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “It’s an event all ages can enjoy, whether they’re dancing, enjoying lights in the park or playing in the foam. We’re looking forward to welcoming residents and families across Huntsville for another fun night in the park.”

If all that dancing works up an appetite, a variety of local food vendors will be on-site with concessions available for purchase.

Whether you’re bringing the kids, meeting up with friends or simply looking for a fun evening outdoors, Light Up the Night is one of Huntsville’s favorite traditions for ending summer on a bright note.
